Seasonal Herbal Medicine: Spring Workshop

  • Barn at the Homestead Petaluma, CA (map)

with the Sierra Nevada Sisters, Evelyn Rosefield and Betsy Harden

Enjoy a spring day at The Homestead with the Sierra Nevada Sisters, Betsy and Evelyn. Actively participate in each segment of this workshop to establish a vibrant, interactive relationship with the herbs. Start the day in The Barn with a sage blessing and guided meditation to calm and focus your mind. Then, Evelyn shares rituals of the Spring Season that support a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Next, Betsy discusses forming a connection with local herbs through ethical wildcrafting, followed by a walk on the land at The Homestead to meet the herbs firsthand. Return to The Barn to discuss the healthy, seasonal recipes you will enjoy for lunch and learn how food is medicine too. After taking a break to enjoy the lunch Evelyn has prepared, she will introduce you to the herbs that promote a healthy liver to minimize hay fever, allergies, and other disorders related to liver imbalance. As part of the conversation about liver health, you will learn how to make liver tonics and teas.

The Sierra Nevada Sisters provide you with digital documents that cover Ethical Wildcrafting, Local Herbs and Their Medicinal Properties; Seasonal Meal Recipes; Herbs for Springtime Health; Guidelines for a Healthy Liver; Herbs to Support Healthy Liver; Formulas for Liver Tonics and Teas. You will also receive a gift bag that includes Spring Pesto; Liver Tonic; Nutritive Liver Tea, and a Tea Strainer.
