Experimenting with Natural Dyes

  • Barn at the Homestead Petaluma, CA (map)

with Lorna Jacoby, Jacqueline Stark, and Mackenzie

Join Lorna, Jacqueline, and Mackenzie in an exploration of dyeing fabrics with plant-based dyes.

Dyeing is a technique that has been practiced since time immemorial, starting with drawings in caves, dating back 34,000 years. Nature provides us with an amazing color palette and it will be fun experimenting with natural and sustainable materials and processes. Unpredictable and surprising results to be expected!

Materials will be provided, but if you have a special garment or piece of cloth you’d like to dye, bring it with you (note: it must be 100% silk or cotton).

You are welcome to bring your own lunch, or we can provide a boxed lunch consisting of a sandwich, potato chips and a cookie + bottled water for an additional $10.

$125 per person
