Artist Statement

Ordinary materials have a magical way of communicating with me, often surprising me with their creative outcome. Inspiration finds me in myriad forms and places, never predictable yet always invigorating.

Nature often inspires my art reflecting the unlimited variety of surface textures, patterns, and energy allowing me to bring the essence of the outdoors into interior spaces. Amidst the chaos of our world, my art becomes a vessel for expression, a means to navigate and comprehend the tumultuous events unfolding around us.

Early on in my artistic journey, I learned that invaluable lesson of not merely looking, but truly seeing. It’s akin to viewing the world through the lens of a macro camera, where every detail holds significance and every idea Carrie’s weight.

The excitement of creating is ever present for me. Through my art, I strive to capture the essence of the world around me, to distill its beauty and complexity into tangible form.

About the Artist

After receiving her BFA cum laude from Boston University, Kathy Pallie enjoyed a professional career in commercial art working with many different materials creating 2 and 3-dimensional objects for the visual merchandising, exhibit, and point-of-purchase industries.

When she retired, she began working with clay, a very tactile and exciting material with endless possibilities. This transition didn't just mark a shift in materials, but also opened many avenues for her artistic expression. From the joy and freedom of her ‘clay play days’, her career took off, leading to the creation of impressive commission pieces for hotels and other public places and exhibitions in prestigious galleries and many publications.

Still excited about clay, Pallie’s work has come full circle with her once again creating with various materials and a wide range of techniques. Her immersion into fiber arts has her creating sculptures with wire, rubber roping, paper, fabric, metal, and clay. This interdisciplinary approach not only adds depth to her work, but also allows her to create artworks that are truly unique and innovative. Her work ranges in scale from jewelry size pieces to large scale interior design installations. Pallie's passion for art continues to thrive, driving her to explore new avenues of creativity and to push the boundaries of her craft.
