Join us, Sunday November 13, for Art+Sake at The Watershed with artist Seiko Tachibana and potter Hiroko Ishida, as part of our ongoing exposure to the arts in this historic and elegant Petaluma venue.
Seiko’s prints are inspired by the unifying principle of nature. Her artworks are interpreted through shape, color and spatial relationships. Seiko will donate a percentage of sales from this afternoon to the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley. Visit Kala’s website to learn more about their mission to serve as an art-making hub for the community.
Hiroko honors the nature of the clay in her process, which embraces the traditional Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic. Her pieces are intended for daily use. Hiroko’s past life as a chef informs her designs. She continues to study the age-old Japanese techniques of ikebana — Japanese flower arrangement — and tea ceremony.
Come and sip Uka Sparkling Sake with its citrus fruit and delicate floral aromas — we think you’ll enjoy this dreamlike mist in a glass, which comes compliments of Omurasaki Beverage Company.
Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind afternoon with Saffron Communities and these inspired artists.
