Join us for a Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) gathering with our Saffron community to honor our loved ones and rejoice in their memories. Please bring photos of your departed and a dish to share.
El Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes their loved ones favorite food, drink, and of course celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from October 31st to November 2nd. While October 31st is Halloween, November 2nd is All Souls Day or also known as the Day of the Dead. According to tradition, the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31st and the spirits of children can rejoin their families for 24 hours. The spirits of adults can do the same on November 2nd.
Guests are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Please do not attend an event if you are experiencing any Covid-19 related symptoms as listed here on the CDC website, or if you have had recent close contact with an individual who is confirmed as having Covid-19. Please wear masks.
